The Freakyhouse music blog and netlabel has been quietly pushing out "The House Sound Of Budapest" into the wider world since 2007, spreading the faith within their home country and across borders. Several of the producers they've supported have since gone on to find wider recognition, including our friend Gnork, lo-fi newcomer Route 8 and man behind one of Jimpster's favorite tracks of 2013, Mr.Fiel. Representing a vital resource for the musically curious, they're also involved with several radio shows on Budapest's largest non-commerical FM radio station (Radio Tilos 90.3FM) and various events around their home city.
As part of a celebration of the rising recognition that young producers from Hungary have been receiving in the global deep house community, they hosted a competition to remix Gnork's Skysurfin', an epic corruscating dream opus, with the winners recieving copies of the super limited 12" and their patented 'House Sound Of Budapest' T-shirts.
And here are the winning entries, chosen from almost 20 entries from across the world.
If you dig what you hear and want to support a grass-roots, non-commerical endeavour to spread quality music or just fancy owning some super limited vinyl that few others will have in their bags, visit Freakyhouse and place an order for one of the only copies in existance.
